Speaking to Political Analysis South Africa on Wednesday, 20 March 2019, the former African National Congress (ANC) big wig Thandiswa Marawu detailed her reasons for leaving the ANC, a party which she has been a part for years.
Amongst her reasons for leaving, Marawu said she was influenced by her religious values and was driven out by the lack of peace and ubuntu within the ruling party.
“I am a member of the Twelve Apostles’ Church in Christ (TACC) and we believe in peace and unity.
The reason why I left the ANC is because I realised that the party was no longer a peaceful and united organisation,” she said.
Marawu recalled the last Eastern Cape Provincial Conference which was held at the East London International Conference Centre in 2017.
